ABOUT THE TOUR

Florence can be extremely hot during the summer. However, in just a few minutes you can reach the hills of Fiesole and enjoy a cooler climate, away from the heat of the city.

Cycling at sunrise or sunset through the countryside is a truly unique experience.

An adventure that starts or ends at the rhythm of the sun: a dance of colours, smells and sounds that can only be discovered when the world seems to slow down.
This experience is meant for sport lovers and for all those who consider physical exercise a means of freedom, energy and joy.

During the bike trip we’ll do a brief stop at a local traditional Tuscan farm to taste and eat Tuscan bread and excellent local extra virgin olive oil.
For a better outcome, tours are designed for a maximum of four persons (except special arrangements for private tour).
Tour is by appointment only, and it is scheduled according to the seasons and the sun.
Departure and arrival will be with dark, so participants will be wearing reflective suspenders and bikes will be equipped with lights.
There are no particularly challenging paths or trail stretches, except for only dirt and/or paved roads.

That being said, you still need to have good physical conditions and be able to ride a bike safely.

The tour is definitely not suitable for casual cyclists and beginners.

Both tours (at sunrise and sunset) can terminate either in Fiesole or in the city centre of Florence.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AND WINE TASTING

All the bike tours include, without any additional cost, a brief stop at a traditional Tuscan olive oil and wine farm: Fattoria di Montereggi. You will taste and eat bread and excellent local extra virgin olive oil, as is tradition ever since I was a child, and a glass of red house wine (a "gottin di vino"), making the places you are visiting even more extraordinary and your bike tour a true local experience. Purchase (and shipping) of olive oil and Chianti wine is available from the farm.

MEETING POINT

Departure from Fiesole, Piazza Mino da Fiesole, bus terminal ATAF number 7.
Fiesole is a village just outside of Florence, 6 km (3.7 mi) distance from the city center, and it's very convenient to get to by public bus from downtown.
From Florence center (Largo Alinari map link) to go to Fiesole and reach our meeting point with public transportation it’s easy, cheap, ecologically-friendly, for certain itineraries it is even mandatory and therefore all itineraries are scheduled according to public transport timetables
